Getting Started in Blow Up The City

Land, pick a block, bank the cash, and buy a strike that actually pays for the next one.

Getting Started

Blow Up The City is a Roblox sandbox from Airstrike Industries. You join an eight-player city, call airstrikes, collapse buildings, and spend the payout on heavier ordnance. The place went live on 19 August 2026, sits at a couple of million visits, and is still labeled early testing — expect bugs, missing tooltips, and a HUD that assumes you will click everything.

This page is the first-hour briefing. It is not a physics-sim toolbox game and it is not Nuke Your City. If your video shows a gunpowder dropper and a cardboard rocket, you are in the wrong wiki.

What you are looking at

The city is a compact sandbox: glass towers, brick walk-ups, a crane, streets, and — after Update 1.5 — extra buildings, two bridges, and a working train. Jets and a stealth bomber already feature in the official thumbnails; in play you spend cash to bring that kind of fire down on a block you choose.

Servers cap at eight players. A public server that has been up for twenty minutes may already be a crater. That is normal. Join a fresh server or use the free private server the game page advertises if you want intact rooftops.

First ten minutes

  1. Open the official Roblox game page and join.
  2. Do not buy a gamepass yet. Walk the street and note which buildings still have interiors and which are already shells.
  3. Find the strike shop or launch panel on the HUD. The exact layout is still undocumented — see Controls.
  4. Spend starter cash on a repeatable drop, not on the most expensive name in the list.
  5. Aim at a cluster: a mid-rise plus the crane, or two houses that share a wall. Isolated props pay poorly. Details live on how to destroy buildings.
  6. Bank the cash and immediately buy the next radius upgrade. The loop is how to play in one sentence.

If nothing is paying, you are hitting already-destroyed rubble. Move. Update 1.5 improved crater scorching so a spent lot should look spent — do not double-tap ash.

What Update 1.5 added to your first hour

You do not need every new toy on day one, but you should know they exist:

  • Nuke — huge, expensive, easy to waste on one house.
  • Eight new buildings and two bridges — more clustered HP, better cash if you aim well.
  • Working train — a moving target; hitting it with a line of buildings is better than chasing it across an empty street.
  • Tornado and Earthquake — wide disruption, different from a pinpoint bomb.
  • Attack Heli — a vehicle-style strike, closer to AC-130 than to a dumb bomb.
  • More cash per strike — the patch buffed payouts, which is why old “this game pays nothing” comments may be stale.

Rank those tools on the airstrike tier list before you dump a first paycheck into Nuke. Dedicated how-tos: How to Use Nuke, Attack Heli, Tornado and Earthquake, city map, private servers.

Gamepasses can wait

There are five passes: X2 Cash (99 Robux), Unlimited NPCs (94), AC-130 (149), ICBM (199), Unlimited Cash (320). The only pass that helps a brand-new player learn the loop is X2 Cash, and even that is optional. Unlimited Cash skips the farm entirely, which is fun and also teaches you nothing. Full notes: gamepasses.

Codes, scripts, and look-alikes

There are no working promo codes. Bookmark the codes hub and ignore BOOM. Scripts for this place were not listed on the usual hubs at time of writing — read script safety before you paste anything that claims inf cash.

A good first session looks like this

You join a city that still has a skyline. You collapse one dense block, afford a better strike, collapse a bridge or a train-adjacent row, and leave with a feel for radius versus cost. You do not need ICBM, you do not need a code, and you do not need to sit in a cratered public server hoping rubble will pay.

When that session feels easy, move to how to earn cash and Players for NPC packing. When a patch lands, start on Updates and the Update 2 preview instead of a random thumbnail.
