How to Earn Cash in Blow Up The City

Intact clusters pay. Rubble does not. Update 1.5 made good hits worth more.

How to Earn Cash

Cash is the only progression bar in Blow Up The City. There is no XP tree and no badge board. If the shop stays grey, you are not destroying enough intact structure, or you are playing in a city someone else already spent. This page is the money route. It assumes you already know the loop from How to Play.

What actually pays

Payouts scale with destruction. A glass tower with floors still in it is a stack of HP. A burnt shell is a decoration. After Update 1.5 the studio explicitly raised cash per strike, so a clean hit on a new building, a bridge, or a train-adjacent row should move your wallet. If it does not, the target was already dead.

Aim at:

  • Mid-rises that still have interiors (the official shots show rooms blowing out — that is the idea).
  • Construction sites with a crane. The crane is a tall HP stick sitting on a dense lot.
  • Bridges added in 1.5. Hitting the deck plus both banks is one strike, two districts.
  • The working train. A moving row of HP. Lead it like a slow vehicle, or wait until it sits next to houses.
  • Streets packed with NPCs. Bodies do not replace buildings, but a busy street is a better place to drop a wide tool like Earthquake or Tornado.

Avoid:

  • Single props in a parking lot.
  • Scorched craters. 1.5 improved crater scorching so you can see that the money is gone.
  • Public servers that look like the city-fire screenshot before you spawn.

A practical farm route

  1. Join a fresh public server or a private server.
  2. Walk until you find a block with three or more standing buildings.
  3. Fire the cheapest strike that covers that cluster. Repeat if the shop restock is short.
  4. Do not chase a single survivor house across the map. Rotate to the next intact cluster.
  5. When the skyline is gone, leave. Farming dust is how people decide the game “pays nothing.”

This is the same advice as cash runs, written for players who have not bought a pass yet.

Multipliers versus skips

X2 Cash (99 Robux) doubles every strike. If you like the loop and will play more than one session, it is the only pass that is a farm tool. Unlimited Cash (320 Robux) lets you launch everything, including ICBM and AC-130, without earning a coin. That is a sandbox key, not a money guide.

Do not buy Unlimited Cash because a thumbnail said you would “go broke.” You will not go broke if you hit bridges and trains instead of ash.

Codes are not a farm

There are no live codes. A future cash code is a first-hour bump, not a strategy. When one exists, redeem it with how to redeem and dump it into a repeatable strike from the airstrike tier list. A 30-minute boost is only good if you start a run immediately.

Early-testing caveats

Payouts can fail to register if the server is simulating too many falling parts. Eight players stacking nukes will lag the remote. If a clearly intact tower paid zero, hop servers and report it. Do not assume there is a hidden “tax” mechanic.

Cash exists so you can buy Tornado, Earthquake, Attack Heli, and Nuke without opening the Robux store. If you treat every session as a test of ICBM, you will never see whether the farm works. Play one private-server city all the way from starter drop to Nuke using only earned money. That session is the real tutorial; Getting Started is just the briefing.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for airstrikes, cash, codes, Update 1.5, and the Update 2 teaser.

What is the fastest way to get cash?

Fresh server, clustered buildings, repeatable strikes. Add X2 Cash only if you already like the loop.

Do NPCs drop extra money?

They make streets worth hitting with wide strikes. They do not replace building HP.

Did Update 1.5 change payouts?

Yes. The official notes say more cash per strike, plus new clustered targets such as bridges and a train.

Is Unlimited Cash required?

No. It skips farming. Earn cash unless you only want to test strike toys.
