Blow Up The City Airstrike Tier List
Ranked by cash-per-shot and how hard they are to waste on a crater.
This list ranks cash airstrikes in Blow Up The City. Gamepasses have their own page: gamepass tier list. Names come from the official Update 1.5 blurb and from the shop fantasy the thumbnails sell (jets, bomber, fire). Exact in-game restock times are still undocumented, so ranks emphasize shape and waste risk.
If you are brand new, read Getting Started first. A tier list is useless if you fire S-tier tools into ash.
S tier — repeatable clustered damage
Starter / mid bombs you can fire again. Anything with a short restock and a radius that covers two lots. These pay for the next purchase. They look boring next to Nuke and they are why the loop works. Aim them using how to destroy buildings.
A tier — patch tools on the right map
Attack Heli. Steerable damage. Strong on streets, trains, and bridge decks. Cash alternative to the AC-130 pass. If you miss, you still flew over the target; if you hit a crater, you wasted time, not the whole economy.
Earthquake. Wide, messy, perfect for a district of walk-ups that is still standing. Weak on a single tower. Pair with NPCs if you want the street to look busy.
Tornado. Same job as Earthquake with a different silhouette. Use it when you want a moving mess rather than a stamp. Do not use it to “snipe” the crane.
B tier — headline tools
Nuke. Added in Update 1.5, advertised in the description, easy to screenshot, easy to waste. S-tier impact on an untouched skyline. C-tier value on a public server that has already been farmed. Save it for a private city or a fresh join.
Bridge-and-train setups. Not a shop item — a target type. A mid bomb that clips a 1.5 bridge plus both banks jumps a tier. A Nuke that only kisses the rail does not.
C tier — spectacle
One-off mega drops you cannot repeat this minute. They exist so the trailer looks like jets over a collapsing tower. Buy them after the farm from how to earn cash is comfortable.
D tier — skip
Any strike you fire into scorched craters. The tool is not D-tier; the decision is. Update 1.5 made craters readable on purpose.
Suggested buy order (cash only)
- Repeatable bomb.
- Attack Heli or a wide weather tool once you can see a whole district.
- Nuke when you can afford to miss and still play.
- Pass toys (AC-130, ICBM) only after you decide you like the game — those are Robux, ranked next door.
Revisit this list after Update 2. New restocks or a new strike name will move Attack Heli and Nuke more than they will move “hit intact clusters.”
If two tools share a letter, pick the one whose shape matches the block in front of you, not the one with the louder name. A street wants a line (Attack Heli, AC-130). A 2×2 of towers wants a circle (mid bomb, Nuke). A leftover hut wants a cheap drop. The airstrike planner is that idea as three questions. This page is that idea as ranks. Neither page can save a shot you fire into ash — how to destroy buildings is still the skill.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for airstrikes, cash, codes, Update 1.5, and the Update 2 teaser.
Is Nuke S tier?
For spectacle, yes. For cash efficiency, only on a fresh skyline. It is easy to waste.
Where does Attack Heli rank?
A tier. It is the cash gunship. Buy it before AC-130 if you only want the feel.
Should I buy Tornado or Earthquake first?
Whichever you can afford when a full district is still standing. They are both wide tools.
Do gamepasses belong on this list?
No. Open the gamepass tier list for X2 Cash, AC-130, ICBM, and Unlimited Cash.
